Originally the farm of the Minnaar family from whom, the northern portion, was bought by Willem Prinsloo in 1896. It was his portion of the original
farm which later became the property of Major Thomas Cullinan and where the Premier Diamond Mining Company was set up. Famous for the world's largest
diamond, The Cullinan Diamond, which was found in 1905 and now forms part of the Crown Jewels in Tower Bridge, London.
Cullinan Village maintains the essence and charm of a late 19th century mining town. Guided tours, walks, shops, eateries and museums are available.
